Yilun Sun received his B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering & automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2013, and his M.Sc. and Dr.-Ing. degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2017 and 2021. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Micro Technology and Medical Device Technology (MiMed) in TUM from 2022 to 2026. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. His research interests include bio-robotics, soft robotic manipulators, medical robotics, structural-optimization-based automatic design, and 3D-printing technologies.
